Well, everyone can have their own perspective. I saw a video of a doctor explaining why public private partnership (PPP)  is best. It's not even privatisation.

 And I saw cbn saying it's for the best growth and they will run with a public private partnership for 20 years and then they will be fully run by the government. Even 50 or more percentage of seats are under very nominal fees.

Discussions on these issues should also take place in assembly by all parties. 

However, we have jagan and his Mla's finding reasons to avoid assembly rather than finding reasons to carry out their responsibility and accountability as elected representatives and members of the legislative assembly.

Yes i know ppp is different from complete privatisation.
But the government is not telling how much stake will they give to the private people?

If they are not telling it
Then it is in the best interest of Andhra in assuming 100% privatisation.

Looking at the counts of medical colleges in the states surrounding us, it is appalling that we only have 35. I hope the govt spends more money on govt medical colleges instead of freebies. But, knowing the govt, it won't.

So, our real choices are

1) No new medical colleges

2) PPP medical colleges

I think we will have to take option 2.

It really depends on your interest and curiosity to learn.

The patient load at Narayana or Apollo Chittoor is expected to be good (it was certainly good during my time). Every patient is your teacher. Tbh, the college itself hardly matters.

Attend rounds daily and ask your doubts, no matter how naïve they may seem. Try to understand the mechanism of the drug or the underlying pathophysiology. Discuss cases with your fellow PGs or seniors. That is more than sufficient.

Do you even know he introduced categories in the new govt medical colleges . Not to forget the fact that one district , one medical college is a centre wide ongoing project 🙄

It's not even privatisation, it's just a public private partnership .

Private colleges can’t be established in southern states because MCI has decided that there is more seat density in southern states and thus it has to freeze new private medical colleges in the region so that north can also catch up, so for the next 15 years there can be no way a generational wealthy power inherited caste business kids can’t do their own family business by milking the huge potential of becoming rich by owning and partnering in medical colleges. 

MCI can’t attract private investment in bimaru states for establishing medical colleges so now it has announce this freeze and CBN even though being in partner with ruling BJP can’t satisfy his accomplices by getting private permits for them because of this policy decision. 


His ingenious decision to invite PPP and handout the approved medical colleges to private player will at least give a breather to some of the friends who help him to get into power. Thereby by-passing and deciding a workaround for this policy of not approving any more medical colleges. 


A friend in power can move big things because setting up and establishing a medical college requires not just money but also muscle and bureaucratic knitting.

Try collecting as much proof as possible and better find someone with political connections and register a complaint.

Bruv that's how most GMCs are in India, I mean honestly I paid 25k a year, and our hostel fee was literally 1300 a year, so I wasn't excepting much from the beginning. Government colleges are like that, but the real reason they're so popular is the case load and the highly experienced faculty. The infrastructure maybe shit, but the students are some of the brightest minds in our country (at least the general category ones), and being their peers motivates you to work hard as well. Not to mention the professors, I mean they literally feel like gods. Some of the ones we had in Medicine could make a diagnosis in the blink of an eye, or notice things that most of the docs of today wouldn't even try looking for. That's what you're going to a govt college for, if you want latest infrastructure and good facilities, it's better you join a private college. Not to mention the fact that, in Govt colleges, since the case load is so high, a lot of the work is delegated to the interns, which means you actually get a lot more hands on than you would in a private setup, where most of the patients are super rich and wouldn't even allow an intern to touch them.

I've heard a lot about ragging in Andhra medical College.  Sadly this is being normalised. Apart from that I think every other government college in India has the same infrastructure without any basic amenities. You'll just have to have to cope up there's nothing you can do about it. Youll get over these gradually. Maybe aim for a good private college with good infrastructure in your post graduation.

Also ragging is widespread everywhere so that's not only your clgs problem. Deal with it and try not to do it to your juniors (everyone says this but even you will end up doing the same or might remain silent when someone you know does it so unless you got high moral values, don't even think about these things).

Pass first year and maybe second yr might be different and who cares about these things 😂😂
